Here is where it gets weird: I have a textbox that will open up the modal popup when someone hits the enter key, copy its text to the search textbox inside the updatepanel and fire the click event of the search button. I have another grid in a different updatepanel up User Details this contains a grid too gv User Access Keys.
This obviously causes a partial postback and the Grid View gets updated with the search results. The problem is once the modal popup is open, if I change the search text and hit the search button, the partial postback occurs, I can see my button_command() event firing on the server side, my Data Bind() for the Grid View is fired with the new contents of the textbox, but the Update Panel does not update the Grid View display!!! It does not include JS as that seems to work fine: how interesting that you use the trigger to trigger a buttn that is inside the updatepanel itself. Data Bind() I am not sure why this is happening, but I have 2 suggestions: 1. Update in the button's click event to see if update takes place. Change the Children As Triggers="true" to see if it works. I want to refresh the second updatepanel up User Details (basically trigger it) based on the Row Command in the gv Users which is in the first update panel. On Demand updation of gridviews inside updatepanels Hi, I have the following scenario- I have 4 gridviews , each of them inside updatepanels and wrapped with collapsable panel extenders to expand and contract each of them independently using linkbuttons provided on top of each of the gridviews.
column which will act as custom column for delete functionality.
The reason to use a custom button is to provide the Java Script confirmation box to the user when he clicks Delete.
After the delete query I am firing a select query and the rebinding the Grid View.
Basically the Update Panel will give the asynchronous calls thus not reloading the complete page and the JQuery will block the UI until the update panel is refreshed completely.
